History
The Department of Computer Engineering and IT aims to train the best students and engineers to meet the country’s needs in Computer Engineering and Information Technology. In addition to teaching duties, the department also conducts research on parallel processing, information systems, and the use of microcomputers.
The computer engineering program emphasizes the use of computers in engineering systems, and the interaction of computers with physical systems, it is intended for those who are ready to enter the industry as well as those who want to complete a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, software.
Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science. The program includes a spectrum of subjects and specialized laboratory experiences. In addition, the depth of computer engineering is provided by technical electives. The undergraduate program in information technology builds on the knowledge gained in the applied science association in information technology and provides new areas of study. Options are available in Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, and Cyber Security and Information Assurance. Key student outcomes for this program include critical communication and business skills necessary for success in an industrial career. The department offers a 4-year bachelor’s degree consisting of 149 credits. The first two years consist of basic science and engineering courses. The main course is concentrated in the last two years. In the final year, a 6-credit senior program will be taken. Students must also seek experience from industrial training for a total period of at least 4 weeks.
